Generally, in order to improve the working efficiency and use the rotary kiln better, it is very important to measure the central axis of the kiln. For the measurement of the central axis of the kiln, simply speaking, it is the process of determining the center of the dynamic suspended large-diameter object. Then, according to the mathematical methodology, there are three ways to determine the center position of the large diameter:
Method 1: determine the center of the kiln by measuring the distance between the reference vertical plane and the cylinder in the horizontal direction
For the suspended rotary kiln, this kind of measurement method is not very convenient in operation. The main problem is the distance between the measurement horizontal direction benchmark and the cylinder. The measurement personnel need to be close to the high-temperature operating kiln body for high-altitude operation. There are hard to estimate the human observation error and certain danger, so it is quite difficult to realize.
In addition, during the measurement, we determine the center of the kiln by measuring the distance between the reference vertical plane of the rotary kiln and the cylinder in the horizontal direction, which requires high-altitude erection of equipment, increasing the difficulty of system installation, so this monitoring system will not be adopted.
Method 2: determine the center of a circle by knowing three points on the circle
Before the formal measurement, we measure the positions of three different points on the kiln to determine the central position of the kiln. This method does not need to measure the diameter of supporting wheel and kiln body, and reduces the indirect error in the measurement process. When the contact sensor is used to measure, the high temperature and vibration of the hot rotary kiln will have a great impact on the measurement accuracy. The laser sensor placed on the ground is proposed to be used in the monitoring system so as to avoid the measurement error caused by the vibration of the kiln pier.
Method 3: determine the center of rotary kiln with two points and diameter known
This method mainly determines the center position of the kiln by measuring the positions of different two points on the wheel belt and combining the diameter of the wheel belt. In this way, it is necessary to measure the diameter of the wheel belt at the same time. It should be noted that the measurement of the tire diameter usually brings some errors to the measurement results.
All of the above three methods can be used to measure the central axis of rotary kiln. We can find that each method has its own characteristics, and the measurement results are basically satisfactory. However, which method to choose depends on your actual needs and usage habits.
